[CS-FSLUG] Firewall query

Educated guesses are encouraged: Why/how does a firewall block access to
Yahoo webmail?

Forget the lectures about using Yahoo services; that's not an option.
Several people I know are using firewalls on Winboxen, as they should, and
cannot read their Yahoo webmail. The problem is relatively new. They can
login, they can get the inbox list, but as soon as they click to read a
message, the process "hangs" and nothing happens. The computer is still
working, the browser still works and they can go anywhere else they
please, so far. Is Yahoo doing something dirty here, demanding
illegitimate access to user's computers? I've heard conjecture it's tied
to popup blocking -- no popups, no access.
