Look for the press release by the same title on LXer.com around 10:00
AM EST Wednesday. A handful of us from the CS-FSLUG and L4C listservs
have united to speak up in defense of the visually-impaired and the
economically disadvantaged. I definitely encourage everyone to spread
the word, and feel free to pass the release along to your local media.
We would like to see this get the widest possible attention, as we
are essentially attacking Microsoft's only real strong point in the
Massachusetts OpenDocument decision.

I have seen people on these lists complain about having to continue
using MS Office because you and the people you know are locked into
their proprietary file formats. This is an opportunity to change
that. This issue affects every one on these lists, and especially
those of our own members who are visually-impaired. Most importantly,
we are standing up to Microsoft's unethical handling of the situation
in Massachusetts by pointing out that
they have misled the public and the visually-impaired as to what this
fight is really all about.

Those who prefer to remain uninvolved can still help by keeping us in
your prayers.

Blessings,
Don
