I don't think most Linux software devs see x-platform apps as a deal with
the devil.  I think most see it in the very light you see it in.  For
churches, OpenSong, which is a Mac/Win lyrics app that runs on GNU/Linux
with a bit of tinkering.  The Sword Project is another example, especially
JSword, which is a nice Java-based Bible app.  The GNU Win CD and the Open
CD both offer apps that are either Windows-based or x-platform.  AC4 offers
their own version of the GNU Win CD to their computing centers.
