My 4-month-old experiment with a local lady has gone rather well for
the most part.  She needed a Flash player and Java support. 
Otherwise, she seems to be o.k. with the system.  She even used a
prospective employer's website that supported GNU/Linux visitors.  All
in all, it's been a good experience.  I've got her using Ubuntu, and
am about to upgrade her to Hoary Hedgehog.  We'll see how that goes. 
I've only had about a half-dozen phone calls throughout the process.
