[CS-FSLUG] Mac mini as a Wireless repeater?

Hi Chris,
Sorry to pick your brain, but I just had an idea... I saw this article:
http://www.smashsworld.com/2005/01/mac-mini-vs-airport-
extremeexpress.php
And I was wondering, can the Mac mini pull in the signal from one
wireless network and then cast out a signal (i.e. do repeating)? I seem
to recall my PB cannot, but I thought maybe there is a way to do that.
I was thinking back to my attempt to get my church's choir director a
new Mac (she has an old System 7 one that doesn't do much for her
anymore, so she must use her CRT iMac at home to do most of her work).
She's on the third floor, the network is on the second floor. Thus
there isn't the possibility of doing a wired network without a lot of
effort.
Here's the deal I was thinking: we were going to buy a $199 AirPort
Extreme + a Dr. Botts antenna, but if throwing in a few hundred dollars
more would also provide a computer... of course, I doubt the range
would be strong enough, but if I could combine it with our existing
router, or perhaps, somehow hook up a Dr. Botts antenna to the mini...
I actually already have the antenna. The Apple Store at the mall had
an open box one for $60 off a few weeks ago...
By the way, how do you think the cooling on these will be? Is it a
unit that could stay on all the time without overheating?
