Well that was quick! Here is a copy of his reply that I just received:

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your message.

I gave this speech in a closed meeting, in which everything was supposed
to have been "not for publication".

I have no idea who leaked it and it is now all over the web, posted in
hundreds of websites and being often circulated by e-mail. If it were up
to me, I would have neither posted it in a website nor would I forward
it to anyone. I am sorry this got out of hand. 

There is obviously nothing secret here, but if a meeting is agreed to be
a closed meeting, one should honor such an agreement. I do realize that
99.9% of the people flooding me now with kind comments and questions
could not have known that this was not intended for publication. They
mean well and it is certainly not their fault.

Needeless to say, I stand by what is written there.
