<p>SLAX - Live CD is a bootable CD containing a Linux operating system.
It
runs directly from CD-ROM without installing. The live CD described
here is based on the Slackware Linux distribution and is downloadable
from its website as an ISO image. All scripts and source code which can
be used to build your own live CD are also available.<br>

I'd just like to add a few comments of my own here. This past month
I've had the opportunity to try SLAX and I would consider it to be one
of the best live CD distributions I've ever tried although I've only
tried a few so far. The nicest thing about SLAX for me was that it came
with the software as is and not with a bunch of annoying modifications
which would require hours of work to track down and fix, it also seemed
to be more up to date then Slackware 9.1 and it was very fast, stable
and light. I do however find it unfortunate that QtParted didn't make
it in as one of the packages in the current version.<br>
