I can sort of back this up. I'm still running Ubuntu 9.04 and I really do 
like it. It doesn't install a bunch of stuff you will never use, it just 
installs the basics and lets you build onto it.

Today I finally broke down and installed kontact on Ubuntu, but only 
because Evolution would not let me create IMAP folders. I also like 
kontact better anyway.
