Services can be many different things. For example support. And that's where the money is. And Companies will pay for support to keep the computers running.
Services can also be Server based stuff. Instead of buying an own server with backup, you buy storage in a save location as a service.
Many other things (online groupware stuff...) are imaginable to be sold as service...
