IMHO the Skype Linux client works fine, even though it lacks some
features of the Windows and Mac OS X versions.

Its proprietary bandwidth-hogging protocol is somewhat of a concern,
however, especially if the system uses your box to route other calls.

I have used Ekiga (formerly GnomeMeeting) for Linux to POTS calls,
using the Diamondcard.us service.  It works OK, but the sound quality
lags behind Skype.
