I did not say that analytical thinking was a goal of those attending college, 
but a goal of those teaching college. If all you get out of your computer 
science degree is how to get a job or how to write a program, you've missed 
the point.

Yes, a degree will help you greatly in life due to advanced employment 
opportunities, of this there is no doubt.
