Ed, have you tried calling SBC? They are really working at laying down
broadband everywhere. Perhaps a call will reveal any plans they have
for the fiber. If they have no current plans ask them what would make
them change their minds. ;-)
My grandfather lived 17 miles from the nearest town in Alaska and he had
DSL running to his log cabin. I find it hard to believe that there are
places in the "contiguous" that still don't have broadband! Someone
seems to have dropped the ball somewhere along the line...
