[OFB Cafe] Fonts Question for the Gurus

I had been using the KDM windows manager for the last few months just to 
see how it did in comparison to GDM, my favorite.  Actually, I seem to 
recall something going wrong with my GDM setup, and I didn't want to 
debug it at the time, so I changed over to KDM. 

Anyway, I decided to go back to GDM.  After I got a new install and set 
it up, I noticed that all the fonts in Iceweasel and Icedove were 
noticeably larger!  Also, the Icons on the KDE screen were larger.  I 
checked and all were set as before with the "defaults" in these two 
programs.  Does the Window Manager somehow define the "default" or even 
the "system" fonts during its init?  Maybe it has more to do with the 
default screen resolution, but it doesn't seem so to me as the changes 
were not as big as when I switch between my defined screen resolutions.

I am just curious, not complaining.  The larger fonts are quite welcome 
here, but I would like to know where I can make such global changes and 
just how to do it!
