I have only seen (and played with) one once.
It was on a party last autumn and one of the guys had a Nikon digital SLR with 
such lenses on.
He said it was a type of model with not so many opportunities but that way 
OTOH this thingee was affordable still.

I can't find something off-hand which looks similar to the stuff this guy had. 
His was smaller.
Nice thing to play with, no doubt.
After some googling I might say this was a so-called 'lensbaby'.
