Hello everyone,
Welcome to Cafe. You are receiving this message as a member one or
both of the old lists OfB-Talk or FOSS-Cafe (formerly known as KDE-
Cafe). I proposed merging the two lists last month, but due to other
commitments that came up could not have picked a worse time to come
up with a new project. However, this is a new month and new year and
so welcome to a new list.

Please note the old lists are still up for archive purposes but will
no longer allow posting. If you want to post, simply send your
message to cafe at ofb.biz . Pretty much everything is on topic,
although I think everyone on both lists is technology inclined. Also
note that I have not preserved the individual settings you may have
chosen on how you wish to receive list mail or your list account
password. To edit this, please go to http://ofb.biz/mailman/listinfo/
cafe_ofb.biz and request a password reminder to get your login
information. I apologize for any inconvenience this switchover may
cause in that respect.

As a reminder, the Cafe acceptable subject policy, migrated from
FOSS-Cafe, is included below.

	Best,
	Tim

Welcome to OFB Cafe -- thank you for joining us. Please take a moment
to review this message of list rules before beginning your
participation in the community. We look forward to hearing from you
at the cafe!

1. OFB Cafe provides a forum to argue and discuss ideas -- not to
wage personal attacks. Keeping discussions focused on ideas allows
for the enjoyment and edification of the whole group. If you can't
keep to ideas, move your discussion off-list.

2. Absolutely no discriminatory remarks based on age, race, sex,
religion, etc. are allowed. Attempts to make claims against groups in
such a way do not belong on this list and will not be tolerated.

3. The list moderators have as their *sole* purpose the civil
operation of the list. Posts that detract from the civil atmosphere
will result in the poster being moderated for a time to be determined
by the moderators. This is not censorship. The internet is a very big
place, and virtually any view may be expressed somewhere on it. But
that doesn't mean that virtually any view may be expressed here.
Those that are deemed inappropriate will be handled appropriately.
